Alcatraz is an American television series first broadcast in 2012. This series focuses on Alcatraz prison, which was shut down in 1963 because of unsafe conditions for its prisoners and guards. The concept of the show is that both the prisoners and the guards vanished in 1963 and suddenly reappeared in contemporary San Francisco, where a government agency is trying to track them down and prevent them from committing more crimes.
