Qatar Airways was founded in 1993 and has since become one of the leading airlines in the world, consistently ranked as one of the top five airlines in the Skytrax World Airline Awards. The oryx, the national animal of Qatar, is an antelope with unusually long, straight horns, and its head appears on the Qatar Airways emblem.
