The Smithsonian is a group of museums and research centers located in Washington D.C. that includes 19 museums, 9 research centers, and the National Zoo. It was founded in 1846 with the mission of "the increase and diffusion of knowledge."

The Smithsonian logo has a sunburst symbol and wordmark that uses the Minion Pro Regular font, designed by Robert Slimbach in 1990. More font details can be found here.
